Replacing a HVAC unit on a two hundred fifty three (253)
foot high twenty (20)
story building:
Birdseye View of the rooftop showing the derrick and new cooling towers and
chiller on the penthouse roof. The chiller weight
was 17,000 pounds.

Raising
one of the 17,000 pound centrifugal chiller barrels early in the morning before
the workers arrived in the floor below.
Lowering the barrel onto the steel deck we built outside the penthouse so we
could roll all the equipment in at floor level.

We suspended the chiller compressor from our gantry and rolled the two
barrels under, ready to join the barrels and lower the compressor into place.
Our 175 ton Krupp KMK5175 fitted with 141 foot jib
angled at 30 degrees to erect the extensive support steel and the 17 ton derrick
with 100 foot boom.
